Appeal against "Fake Submission" warning and rejection of official Swiss Trail Sign

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title: Wanderweg 30er Zone
  • Location (lat/lon): 47.002801, 7.413712
  • City: Kirchlindach
  • Country: Switzerland
  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information): attached, see above
  • Additional Information (if any): Hello Wayfarer Team and Community Managers,

I need urgent assistance regarding a severe misunderstanding by the support team. My account received a warning for a “Fake Submission” regarding an official, brand-new Swiss trail sign (“Wanderweg”). Furthermore, 7 existing and perfectly valid trail signs in the area were automatically deleted as a result.

My appeal was just rejected with the comment that it looks like a “homemade marker”. This is factually incorrect.

In Switzerland, the yellow diamond symbol is the official government signpost for public hiking trails (officially managed by the cantonal authorities, in this case, Canton Bern). It is not homemade; it was professionally installed by a cantonal worker right in front of my personal training studio (which is an active Gym in the game: “Fitness Glade - Personal Training Studio”).

Because it was recently installed, it does not appear on old Google Street View updates yet.

I am providing the links to the geotagged photos again to prove its absolute authenticity:

Please have a human community manager who understands European/Swiss infrastructure review this case. I request the removal of the unfair warning from my account and the restoration of the 9 wrongfully deleted trail signs in the area.

Important Context for the Community Manager:
In Switzerland, the yellow diamond (“Wanderweg”) is a protected, official government signpost integrated into the Swiss Federal Constitution (Art. 86 BV). Every single official trail marker in the country is mass-produced and attached with exactly these metal clamps to official signposts. Denying this as a “homemade marker” means denying the entire official national hiking infrastructure of Switzerland. See: https://www.aboutswitzerland.eda.admin.ch/en/switzerland-yellow-signposted-hikers-paradise

The second photo clearly shows the marker is located at a critical pedestrian decision point, right next to the active in-game Gym “Fitness Glade - Personal Training Studio”.

Note on video evidence: I also have clear video proof of the cantonal worker actually installing this exact sign, filmed live from my studio. Due to privacy and forum guidelines, I will not post it publicly here, but I am more than happy to send this video proof directly to a Niantic Community Manager via Direct Message (DM) upon request.

Thank you for your time and for fixing this automated mistake.

Did you provide any information about the trail like its name, route map etc? I am familiar with these types of markers but if you don’t provide any info about the trail it’s understandable if Scopely reviewers aren’t familiar with them

Hello and Welcome @PontifexXGOtwo

It is difficult to know where It is best to post when you arrive on this forum :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I have moved this to Nomination Support

There is no need to tag multiple people. The Wayfarer Team read the posts. If the comment their names will start ScopelyExp…

There is no systematic process to appeal an appeal outcome. What occasionally may happen is that posters of queries like yours will find the result overturned.

What might be considered is if the appeals team did something wrong in assessing the appeal with the information they had been presented with.

Bear in mind that they are human so sometimes the decision overall may be correct but they select the wrong text.

Hey @PontifexXGOtwo ,

Please check my DM for details.
