Approved Appeal Wayspot missing in Pokémon GO - Turskilt Kølabonn og Flateby

Hello,

My appeal for the Wayspot “Turskilt Kølabonn og Flateby” was accepted on May 20th, 2026. However, after more than 4 months, it has still not appeared in Pokémon GO.

I have checked IITC and verified visually in-game that the local S2 L17 cell is completely empty. There are no other overlapping PokéStops or Gyms in the area.

Could you please look into this database sync issue and manually push it through to Lightship/Pokémon GO?

Wayspot Details:

Title: Turskilt Kølabonn og Flateby
Location / Coordinates: Klokkertorva, Enebakk, Norway

I have attached the screenshot proving the appeal was accepted. Thank you for the help!

Hey just a heads up that Ingress stayed with Niantic after Scopely bought the other games - Pokemon Go, Pikmin Bloom, and Monster Hunter Now. So IITC will not accurately show the current Wayspots for use in those games.

Welcome to the forum!

Is this your Wayspot? It is in the same L17 S2 cell as a gym, so it cannot be a Pokestop. It is too close to be used as a Power Spot as well.

It seems like you understand S2 cells, so I won’t explain those. You can check for nearby Wayspots when you submit. Any Wayspots accepted after May 2025 will not be in Ingress, since that was the separation date. And that gym was just accepted this year.

Thank you for looking into this. I believe there may be a coordinate issue with this Wayspot that could explain why it is currently in the same L17 S2 cell as the Gym you referred to.

I would like to clarify that I am also the person who submitted the Gym you are referring to. I have personally visited this area, walked the trail between these locations, and checked the area using IITC. I therefore know from being on site that there is a significant physical distance between the two signs — they are not located a few meters apart.

I have now checked the original nomination confirmation emails for both Wayspots:

• “Turskilt Kølabånn og Flateby”
• “Sykkelskilt langs trillestien i Fudalen”

These are two physically separate signs at different locations along the trail. However, as shown in the attached screenshot, the original nomination confirmations show the exact same coordinates for both nominations:

59.799182, 11.109096

The attached screenshot shows the confirmation information for both nominations.

The photos also clearly show that these are two different physical locations. The surrounding terrain, vegetation and trail sections are different, and the signs are clearly not located together in the real world.

Interestingly, the current Lightship data now shows the two Wayspots only about 3 meters apart:

• Turskilt Kølabånn og Flateby: 59.799208, 11.109072
• Sykkelskilt langs trillestien i Fudalen: 59.799182, 11.109096

This is not their actual physical separation.

My appeal for “Turskilt Kølabånn og Flateby” was accepted on May 20, 2026, with the appeal decision specifically stating:

“This Wayspot was rejected due to location accuracy, but the submitted location is correct.”

Because the original nomination confirmations show identical coordinates for two physically separate nominations, while the current Lightship data places them approximately 3 meters apart, I suspect there may have been a coordinate error or a coordinate change during the review or appeal process.

Could you please investigate the coordinate history of “Turskilt Kølabånn og Flateby” and verify whether its current location corresponds to the location that was originally submitted?

If the Wayspot was moved to its current location during the review or appeal process, could you please correct it to the intended original location?

I understand the S2 cell rules and why a Wayspot in the same L17 cell as a Gym would not appear as a PokéStop. My concern is that this Wayspot may currently be in that cell because of an incorrect coordinate, rather than because that is its intended real-world location.

I have attached the nomination confirmation evidence showing the identical

coordinates for the two separate submissions.

Thank you for taking another look at this. I believe the attached evidence may help identify what happened.

I am not staff. Ingress is not part of Wayfarer since May 2025. I don’t think Lightship is a thing now, but honestly am not sure.

If you believe that the Wayspot should be moved and can provide evidence of that, you can request a location edit from Help Chat

Hmm… note to @elijustrying to create an updated screenshot =)

I did not dive deeper into your post since I cannot do anything about it.
