Electrical Box Art Rejected

I nominated an electrical utility box (Transformer station) with an unique artwork but it got automatically rejected. I appealed but it got rejected again saying the photo is not clear enough even though I made sure I show the artwork fully in the main photo and the whole utility box in the supporting photo. How can I improve this?

Appeal & Response:

I don’t mean to be mean, but where is the art?

The whole box is painted to resemble a historic Ottoman house

In street view from 2025, there isn’t even a box here.

I don’t see anything that sounds like your description in what you posted as the main photo.

Wait is that whole thing a box?

Yes its one of those huge transformer substations

okay both the appeals reviewer and i were looking at this thing when you called it a painting on a box

unless someone else here who knows more about these think you shouldn’t resubmit it, i would recommend you try again. i would use a photo that shows the whole thing, more like this (but take your own photo)

and then instead of saying it is a drawing on an electric box, say that it is a transformer that has been artistically painted to resemble an historic Ottoman house.

Thanks for the tips. I will try again

The automated process would have seen an ineligible utility box on a house and the appeal reviewer would probably have come to the same conclusion.

I agree that the design of this utility building is interesting. However, wayspots are not eligible on Single Family Private Residential Properties (SFPRP). I therefore wonder whether something that isn’t SFPRP, but is disguised as SFPRP, is going to have difficulties being accepted?

Be prepared that this one is probably going to be very hard to get approved. You need to write a very thorough explanation that the entire building has been painted to look like a house but is really an electrical station. It would be great if you could find some kind of web link that talks about it. Maybe there’s a news article or an Instagram account that features it?
