Pokestop added to wrong place but requests to change denied!

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title: Bar Hill Hotel Entrance Sign

  • Location (lat/lon): 52.254504, 0.025354

  • City: Bar Hill, Cambridge

  • Country: England

  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):

  • Additional Information (if any): I nominated this stop while stood in the exact spot it is in. The pin showed up correctly at the time on the map. It was accepted, but for some inexplicable reason, it was moved to the wrong location and it’s now outside someone’s house on the opposite side of the road! I’ve tried using ‘edit location’ while at the stop and moving it to the correct place but it was turned down - no idea why! So I tried again but used ‘report issue with pokestop’ I explained the problem and told them that if they look at the map they can see it’s not in the correct place - why would the hotel entrance sign be in a completely different road to the hotel?! but they just declined it! Don’t people actually check these things when reviewing? If they looked at the map they could see clearly for themselves it’s in the wrong location.

Any ideas how to get this fixed please?

Welcome to the forum

It looks like it has moved as it isn’t at the local you gave.

Welcome to the forum.

To submit a location edit correction, use help chat at https://wayfarer.scopely.com/new/help

I am very confused about this issue. There is not a wayspot at

I do see a Wayspot that matches this one at 52.255190,0.026193

I’m not convinced the current location is correct, but as it is a live pokestop in a crowded cell, that is further evidence it was just moved here.

If the coordinates you gave are where you are saying it actually exists, that is too far to do with an in game location edit.

Found it. It is definitely at the wrong place. Hotel Entrance Sign, currently at (52.255190,0.026193), should be at 52.255266, 0.024322

Are you making the location edit request while you have the information up?

Does that involve using the help chat? I get on much better with a simple Report from the map, but that is only for reporting removals not location edits. I struggle with bots.

No worries. I will wait and see if staff action it from this post.

What would be nice and easy is the ability to report location edits from the map.

I imagine that Scopely Explore won’t make this available anytime soon, as they are already overwhelmed with all the reports they are getting, of which I am guessing a lot are removal reports from the map.

I didn’t know how to give the exact co ordinates so I went online and it just gave me the ones for where I was stood when I posted on the forum. If you look at the map you can see the hotel next to the co ords I gave and across the road is where they’ve placed the hotel entrance stop. It’s definitely not been moved to the correct place as I can see them all from my house

Here are 2 screenshots I just took. I’ve circled in yellow where the stop has been placed, and drawn a yellow dot where the actual stop is supposed to be.

For future reference, you can see the coordinates where you submitted the wayspot in your submission email after the photos, like this:

You can get coordinates from Google Maps by right clicking on a computer. I don’t know how on a phone.

Staff who can make adjustments will have user names on the forum that begin with “ScopelyExp” and they do read the posts here.

That yellow scribble in the first image is where I posted it as being: 52.255266, 0.024322

If you drop onto streetview on the roundabout - at the point marked with a grey symbol - you can see the sign and the background.

Yes that’s exactly where the sign is, but the pokestop has not been placed there. It’s been placed in Acorn Avenue behind the bus stop next to houses. But Niantic refuse every attempt to move it to the actual correct place

It might have been on/near Acorn Avenue, but if so, it was moved (to an equally incorrect location).

Since it shows on the wayfarer map as a pokestop even though it is in an already-occupied cell, this supports the idea that it has been moved (from one wrong location to another wrong location).

Well when I uploaded it I was stood right in front of the sign by the roundabout on the pathway. I have no idea how it ended up in Acorn Avenue! I just don’t understand why they’re refusing to move it to the correct location. It’s a shame you can’t email them with photos to prove what you’re saying.

What do you think I should do? Wait for scopely to see this, submit the pokestop again from scratch, or keep trying to edit it/report it and hope people will actually check the location before saying no?

Wait a few days and see if you get a reaction from this thread. The wayspot might quietly get moved, staff might move it and post here, or it might not get moved.

Thanks - and thank you for replying so quickly to all my messages. I appreciate the help
