Problems seeing forum header

Since the change in the forum header occurred when the Japanese section of the forum was instigated I have not been able to any of the links in the forum header.

I understand this is also the case for other forum users and that for some it is linked to the small amount of space on mobile.

However I seem to have a slightly different issue. The problem of not seeing the forum header properly persists for me across a range of devices.

iPhone SE, iPad Air 11 inch (M4), iPad Pro 10.5 inch, Samsung Galaxy laptop

I see the same display across all of these.

However if not logged in on lap top only I can see the full string.

It seems to be related to the known header issue but linked to being logged in.

Logging in and and out to get to forms or help center info, is not a practical work round.

Sorry if I’m not using the right words I’m a tech numpty, but can someone look into this please.

It seems the additional links (help centre, reporting abuse, waystop removals) are only rendered if the interface language is set to “English” (not UK):

go to Profile → Preferences → Interface → in the Interface Language drop down, pick English, scroll down, Save Changes, reload the web page, → the page is rendered with extra links;

Pick English (UK), or German, or other language, Save Changes, reload the page → no extra links in the header.

Not sure what happens when the language is set to “default”, it might pick up the device settings (or not). Especially, when user is not logged in and profile settings are not applied.

Thank you,

That does indeed allow it to be seen.:tada:

But that is only a very temporary workaround and can’t be a permanent solution, as not being able to view it in your chosen language is not a good situation as we proudly say on this forum to use the language you are most comfortable with.

Was not posting it as a workaround)) more like an observation that the “range of devices” in this scenario is rather “range of locales”, agree :100: if a user cannot see the links, they won’t even have a clue that some links might be somewhere if they change locale.

I totally agree

:crossed_fingers: soon™

Hi @elijustrying , thank you for reporting. I will have this escalated for internal review. I will follow up when we have more information to share.

Regards,

Thank you for this

Bump.
