第三者ですが誰にでも起こりうる事例だと思い意見を述べます。本件は撤回・承認という形で収束しましたが、一人のWayfarerとしてこの判定プロセスに強い違和感を抱いています。
判断に誤りが生じることは理解できます。しかし問題なのは、事実に基づかない通報を行った側はそのまま放置され、正当な申請者だけが不当なペナルティと膨大な精神的・時間的コストを一方的に背負わされるという不公平な構造です。この歪んだ構造を放置すれば、正当な申請者ほど疲弊して撤退し、意図的な誤認や過剰な創作による報告を繰り返す側だけが残るという、コミュニティ全体の質の低下を招きかねません。
面倒なんで承認しといたとしか受け取れないんですが…
ちょっと内部で改善方法等協議してくれんですか

That will never happen and wouldn’t work. If only the wayfarer account was banned when people abused wayfarer, this would be pointless, because people abuse wayfarer to get a benefit in Pokemon Go. People don’t abuse wayfarer to get a benefit in wayfarer.
The wayfarer team have said that if evidence is falsified in order to remove then that is something that can be sanctioned.
If a false removal report is made, discussed here and Scopely Explore are alerted to the false removal and reinstate wayspot, we cannot know what sanctions they then apply to the wayfarer who made the false report. Scopely Explore do not publicise the sanctions against individuals.
Experienced users or those familiar with internal operations may take that for granted. While there is no need to detail who received what specific sanction, unless it is explicitly stated—such as “we have taken action in accordance with our policies”—it remains invisible to the OP and standard users like myself.
Of course, I have no intention of making claims that are not based on facts. Thank you for clarifying this for me. If appropriate actions are indeed being taken behind the scenes, I would also like to apologize to the Wayfarer team for my misunderstanding.
If I had tie today I would find a post by staff that essentially stated this.

So..
Wayfarer took TWO WEEKS to investigate and issued a strike for using third party photo(s), which was promptly removed. The only new info seems to be @CrownFeather pointing out a few glaring differences with a Google photo that even a toddler would notice.
I think we’re all curious what happened behind the scene..

If an official comment like the quote above—stating that “action was taken in accordance with policies”—had been provided, it would have been clear enough to both the OP and myself. Not everyone who uses the forum is familiar with internal operations.
これが最も不可解なことです。一人の審査員が（ボタンを押しただけの）報告を行っても調査対象にはならないはずです。それが4つの候補で起きています。複数アカウントや談合による嫌がらせを疑います。下記から調査を依頼すべきではないでしょうか。

昨日１ヶ月放置された申請が否認で帰ってきました こちらが言わなければ永遠に放置されていた筈
CrownFeatherさんが提示されたリンク先の下部にもある通り、不適切な報告を繰り返し送る人物に対しても警告や処分が科される仕組み自体は用意されています。

審査員や報告者についても同様の仕組みにより、必要に応じて、教育、警告、または一時停止などの措置が取られます。
