This is really funny. Welcome sign denied cause of this:
Reviewers stated the following main reasons for rejecting this nomination:
• The text or photo contains insults, ridicule, or harassment directed at a specific person or group of people.
• The nomination contains abuse.
Dont think anyone is checking anything. Sry, but its completely random approving…
Welcome to the forum
The “Abuse” rejection narrative can be flagged for a nomination for any of the following reasons (roughly in order of how often they occur):
* The photo is not yours (e.g., taken from streetview, found on another website)
* The wayspot location pin is misplaced
* The wayspot is deliberately misrepresented (e..g., on school property but pretending it isn’t)
* The nomination is believed to be fake
* Another nomination was flagged and all of yours have been flagged as a consequence
* The text itself is abusive
* The nomination is controversial and likely to be offensive (e.g., a mural of terrorists)
* (there may be others)
You may be able to tell which of these is the issue for this submission, but don’t worry about being accused of being discriminatory, as this isn’t what this narrative is necessarily saying. This narrative is extremely unhelpful and badly worded, as 99% of the time, there are no insults, ridicule or harassment.
None of the reasons mentioned above are relevant in this case. The photo is mine, I placed the location pin accurately, and it is simply a welcome sign at the entrance to the village with no offensive text whatsoever.
It is ridiculous that this particular welcome sign was rejected for a completely irrelevant and seemingly fabricated reason. From my point of view, it does not even seem like anyone actually reviewed my appeal. It simply feels like a complete lack of interest in properly reviewing the nomination.
Can you post what you sent in your appeal and what the appeal rejection was?
That at least explains the “abuse” - incorrect location. I think, but am not certain, that if you appeal and get rejected, then the appeal rejection reasons replace the community rejection reasons.
Can you post a screenshot of the location, taken from the submission email - it is below the photos?
Hey @ZodtheGeneral ,
Welcome to thw Wayfarer Community Forum. I understand that rejections can be disappointing, but this one appears to be correct based on the available evidence.
Not true.

This is where the object is located. The submission was placed away from it.
Hope it helps.
Thanks,
I moved the pin by a few meters so that it precisely matched the actual location of the sign.
I can’t see this on streetview at 48.107382, 17.293585
Than its really strange cause i see it
Ah, seeing that @ScopelyExpAaron found where it actually is, it looks like you got a little confused and placed it on the wrong road leading to the roundabout.
You placed it to the south when it is to the west, at an equal distance from the roundabout as you pinned it.
This doesn’t look abusive, due to the lack of overlapping wayspots, so you probably only got a rejection and not a separate warning? If so, just resubmit at the correct location, to give this submission a chance.
Now I’m genuinely confused. Does this mean that because I was standing about 10 meters away from the object when I took the photo and then moved the pin to the exact location of the sign, that was the reason for the rejection?
If so, what is the purpose of being able to move the pin in the first place?! I thought that feature was specifically there to allow us to mark the exact location of the object.
If I take a photo of a skyscraper while standing some distance away and then place the pin exactly where the skyscraper is located, would that also be grounds for rejection?
This is really demotivating. In this particular case, it was also very easy to verify that everything was correct simply by checking Google Maps, for example.
You got confused and moved the pin to the wrong location.
The submission was pinned over 80 meters away from the correct location.
Top left - where it is
Bottom right - where you pinned it
Omg, really? Argh… so will try it again
It happens. It’s easy to make a mistake like this and because you “know” you did the right thing, you can’t see the mistake
I will bet i really pin it on correct place! Cause i was standing really max 10m away and i wanted to be precise and perfect
Mistakes happen…
Location is one of the main things I check once it goes to Contributions and before it goes to “In Voting”.
Check, Check then Check again…
