A wayspot i got accepted is suddenly removed from the map. I think someone is abusing the report a wayspot button cause this place is not in a private place. How do i get it back on the map? Send it in again?
Welcome to the forum!
Staff will have had evidence before they act on a removal report. Do not just resubmit the point of interest, because this can lead to sanctions on your account if the Wayspot has been deemed ineligible. You can make a case for restoration in this category if you feel it was removed in error. There will have been prompts for posting here that ask for the information the team needs to process the appeal.
When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:
- Wayspot Title:
- Location (lat/lon):
- City:
- Country:
- Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):
- Additional Information (if any):
Do you have coordinates of the removed spot?
That’s odd - I can’t see anything about that location to explain the removal of the wayspot. The POI exists, does not have an existing wayspot (so not duplicate) and has no problem with access.
Hopefully Scopely Explore staff will comment.
Yeah i hope they see this too. I have heard similar stories that a lot of gyms/pokestops has been dissapearing lately - might be because they changed server idk ![]()
Stories you hear on reddit etc cannot be relied on. Although some people might post the truth, a lot of people embellish and miss out key facts, such as the POI being on SFPRP or not actually existing.
Based on what comes through this forum, most removals are legitimate. Only a few look suspicious - abusive removal reports do happen, especially for gyms (as people want the gym to get moved and are willing to roll the dice and get lucky in exchange for removing a game feature).
It is a lot easier for wayspots to be reported now, as it can be done through the wayfarer map, which is a recent change. This almost certainly explains why more wayspots are being removed - lots of ineligible wayspots are being spotted by people who don’t necessarily play in that area.
Every removal report is checked by a human - none of it is farmed out to the ML system and done automatically.
Thanks for the appeal, @snoen! We gave this a second look and decided to restore the Wayspot in question.
Thanks a lot ! ! ![]()
