Hi all, I recently submitted a Wayspot at roughly -37.782844, 175.318832 but it has since been accepted and the location it was created at is -37.782667, 175.318557.
When I made the submission I was standing at the correct location and submitted it from there, I never changed the location on the map.
This means that the Wayspot is placed inaccurately, but as its location is in a taken cell I’m not able to suggest a location edit as it’s not in-game.
Wayspot is the “University of Waikato - Wellness Loop Map” at -37.782667, 175.318557, any help would be appreciated (such as if there is a way to edit the location via Wayfarer)
I looked at this location on the map before replying, and I cannot tell where the actual location should be. Let me caution you strongly not to try to move something that is already correctly placed in order to make it eligible to be a Pokestop before explaining how to do the location edit.
Go to the help menu on the website at https://wayfarer.scopely.com/new/help and a chat box will pop up in the lower right corner. Tap on it and a bot will take information from you.
A ticket will be created, and a human will reply in the chat box after they evaluate the request. You may want to make note of the ticket number in case your browser clears your history before they reply. Even though they ask for your email for verification purposes, they do not send an email.
Since this correction is not obvious on Maps, they will need evidence, such as geo tagged photos. They can accept the edit, reject the edit, move to a third location they feel better represents the point of interest, or even remove the wayspot, but I don’t see any reason for them to do that.
I am curious how/why this was moved in voting when you can’t see it on Maps. If you still have your submission email, the coordinates you submitted will be after the photos in that email.
Do make sure you check and double check the location you give.
Both the current location and the one you stated as “at roughly” do look to be on grass (assuming the maps are up to date) where as the POI does seem to be on tarmac.
For Wayfarer location edits that are “incorrect location” to another “incorrect location” are treated the same as any incorrect edits.
