Reading a similar post reminded me of this cell I saw in person a couple of years ago. Thought I would highlight it for a combination of grim entertainment and staff awareness that it is in need of rebalancing.

That is shocking and I really hope staff see this and do the re-calc.
Will also enjoy when someone posts stating “Why have the perfect, within criteria wayspots vanished” ![]()
I have seen several “2 in a cell” and accepted that it could be a genuine location edit where the re-calc did not trigger but this is just 100% abuse and deserves to trigger punishments.
I don’t think the game is that popular there any more. I remember sitting in one of those gyms for at least 48 hours, and it’s a fairly basic little park, so I’m not expecting much of a disgruntled community response ![]()
The thing is, while I would like the initial abusers to be punished, odds are that they’ve all long since stopped playing the game(s). I can’t begrudge newer players taking advantage of this layout – they aren’t responsible, and if were back there, I would roll my eyes at it, but I probably wouldn’t boycott spinning all the stops!
All the same, it ought to be put right.
Is there a term for when you report a Wayspot that goes against criteria and gets removed and you get the satisfaction of seeing them complain on here or a Reddit about the removal? If it doesn’t exist, we need to come up with one.
Wouldn’t that effectively be the wayfarer equivalent of schadenfreude?
For what it’s worth, I do feel bad for players who don’t realise that things like this shouldn’t normally exist in game, as they may get confused or upset when removals happen. I don’t have any sympathy for those who cheated to create these kinds of places in the first place though.
Yeah, that’s exactly it. I almost feel bad highlighting something that’s been like this for so long, given that the people who will lose out are just going to be the tourists on holiday (and the few locals who have to put up with all the tourists!)
But it is just crazy how many times the original people managed to get the exploit to work.
Yes, those are the ones you that I was referencing.
I have submitted 42 location edits for this area, including almost all of the murals. (Noting in case someone else was also going to do it)
Try “schadenfreude”
Whoops someone else said it before me
I thought you could only submit one location edit at a time on help chat without losing it (at least on the same browser same device)?
There are other forms that can be used (linked at the top of the forum header on desktop).
This provides the links for those who don’t see any forms.
ShadowFreude is the best I could come up with ![]()
Ok, Enjoying it is probably a bit much but I wouldn’t be upset for them, even current players should not complain once it is corrected after however long they have benefited.
Personally, I would hate it and would definitely report if it was local. Don’t see the fun of parking up, fill your bag and go home. Where’s the explore in it.
Not as much fun to explore when half or more of the waypoints are just invisible and have no discernible impact on gameplay.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the “inclusion rules” are stupid. Everything should be included in some capacity.
Wayfarer and pokemon go are two different company. Pokemon go never ackowledge s2 cells. Wayfarer provide wayspot and its up to each game (pokemon go, monster hunter, pikmin, etc ) on how they want to use those wayspot. You are free to reach out to pokemon go to give suggestion. Unfortunately wayfarer cant help you on this
That would be terrible – you wouldn’t even be able to see the pokemon spawns in some city centres.
That’s 1 opinion and 1 that I definitely don’t agree with. With locations such as the 1 discussed here nobody is “Exploring”. They park up or find somewhere to sit and that’s it. Where is the “GO”.
Might as well stay at home and play one of the other pokemon games.
I don’t personally think we need to change the Pokestop density algorithms for Wayspots, but I do love having different ways to see them in use. I must admit that seeing my “hidden” wayspots show up as power spots is fun =)
For yesterday’s Gigantamax event, our group cycled these five, all portals I had created years ago.
I should add that my community does not have a campsite. I haven’t been hearing complaints about having double the density from ones that do, fwiw.
My local town does not have a campsite either, there is a group looking in to it so ![]()
I went to my 1st earlier this year for the Mewtwo’s and did enjoy it.
The local town park does have a location which due to health issues I can usually get to, sit on a bench and reach 3 Gyms so ideal for me when it’s a big raid day. I still have to walk from the car park to this location so it still gets me out (about 500m each way). I could not keep up with the others otherwise.
Both this and @cyndiepooh map is totally different to the abuse mentioned in the OP.
Cyndie still cycled about 600m per lap (and that’s “as the crow flies”) , she still got out and still met the idea of Pokemon GO.
